24-Hour Emergency Care

Emergencies can occur at any time. Our doors are open to emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is always a veterinarian and experienced staff on site to assist your pet.

The Emergency office visit is $110, payable at check-in. Once checked in and triaged, the Veterinarian will assess your pet's needs, develop a treatment plan, and present a written estimate before proceeding with treatment.

If your pet arrives in a critical state and is not "stable", our reception staff will review vital paperwork with you. A signed critical release form will be required, authorizing the level of treatment desired. A deposit based on the expected cost of treatment will be required.

Our cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. Additional services include nail trimming and ear cleaning.

Behavioral Medicine

Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We employ trained veterinarians who determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety, aggression, resource guarding, and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client.

Blood Transfusion & Donor Program

We maintain a supply of blood for all types of pets in case of an emergency. The blood is collected from donor pets, who live with their owners. All blood is carefully screened for disease.
Please call to inquire about our blood donor program, and the benefits involved with your pet becoming a donor.

Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish them with attention. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active while you are away.

Dental Care

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound equipment to clean each tooth thoroughly, above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface that is more resistant to plaque buildup.

Vaccine Protocols

Due to the advances in Veterinary medicine derived from recent research studies on vaccine performance, we are altering our recommendation for vaccines and vaccine intervals for our cherished pets.

Puppies and kittens are still the most "at risk" patients. With newer information on their susceptibility to diseases, we will be recommending a wider protection for our vaccine protocols. After the first year of age, the core vaccines will have a longer period of effectiveness as the pet's immune system matures. Certain vaccines will still be recommended on an annual basis to ensure the highest level of protection for our "at risk" patients. Bordetella and Lyme are given annually in dogs; FELV for outdoor or indoor/outdoor cats.

The vaccine protocols are as follows:

DHLPPCvk and Lepto 4-way at 8, 12, and 16 weeks
Bordetella - 12 weeks
Rabies 1 year - 16 weeks
Lyme - 12 and 16 weeks

1 year old
DHLPPCvk - 3 year duration
Lepto 4-way - 1 year duration
Bordetella - 1 year duration
Rabies - 3 year duration
Lyme - 1 year duration

2 and 3 year old
Bordetella - 1 year duration
Lyme - 1 year duration
Lepto 4-way - 1 year duration

4 year old +
DHLPPCvk - 3 year duration
Lepto 4-way - 1 year duration
Bordetella - 1 year duration
Lyme - 1 year duration
Rabies - 3 year duration

It remains our recommendation that dogs receive semi-annual physical exams to include fecal, urinalysis, heartworm, Lyme's, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma testing. It also remains our recommendation that cats receive semi-annual physical exams to include fecal, urinalysis and FELV/FIV testing for "at risk" cats.

These revised protocols are key to maintaining your companion at his highest level of health, which is our mission at Woodbridge Animal Hospital.

International Health Certificate

If you are traveling with your pet outside of the United States, you must contact your airline and the Consulate or Embassy of the country of destination for the most updated requirements. The website of the United States Department of Agriculture is a great source of information: .

The USDA also has a website for finding the Consulate or Embassy of the country of destination: .

We do have veterinarians on staff that can provide a USDA Health Certificate. Be sure to allow yourself enough time to comply with the regulations of the country of destination, and enough time to schedule an appointment with one of the veterinarians who are certified to issue the certificate. In some cases, countries will require a Rabies Titer, which may require additional time for blood test results.
